Abdullah Sadiq obtained his LLB (Hons.) and LLM degrees specializing in International Law from the University of Dhaka. He enrolled as an Advocate of the Bangladesh Bar Council in 2018. Upon completing his LLM, he started to work under Advocate Shishir Manir in May 2018 and was later promoted as an Associate at Law Lab.

Mr. Sadiq was involved with the research and drafting in many cases, including Ataur Mridha vs. State, Criminal Review Petition No. 82 of 2017 (famously known as Life Imprisonment case).

Over time, he has obtained experience reviewing various land documents, drafting land purchase and transfer agreements, Trust deeds, formation of Trusts, incorporation, and registration of companies and societies. He has given legal opinions on different civil and commercial issues on numerous occasions and successfully represented clients in reconciliation under the labor law regime of the country.

Mr. Sadiq’s research area includes legal instruments of different statutory autonomous bodies, Artha Rin Adalat Ain, cheque dishonor, land-related issues, and family matters.  Regularly, he advised and represented various sections of clients in the Court, including banks and financial institutions. In meetings with clients, he represented Law Lab on applying employment laws and practice. He drafted a Civil Petition for Leave to Appeal in cheque dishonor case and helped clients get desired remedies. Mr. Sadiq has expertise in educational institutions' laws and drafted several petitions to ventilate clients’ grievances against the arbitrary exercise of power.

At Law Lab, Mr. Sadiq conducted extensive research on the application for changing investigation agency in writ jurisdiction by the accused person, the evidentiary value of approver’s testimony, bail during admission, compensation for miscarriage of justice, the scope of prosecution’s embarrassment, legitimate expectation and absorption into revenue budget from development budget, writ against the private body and disciplined force, etc. among others.

Mr. Sadiq had the privilege of assisting Advocate Shishir Manir, head of Law Lab, in writing the book titled ’100 Sensational Murder Cases of Bangladesh‘ published by Universal Book House. He co-authored two articles on freedom of speech and expression and the dismissal of government employees after their landing in jail.
