Mohammad Saddam Hossen hails from Cox’s Bazar, the tourist capital of Bangladesh. He completed secondary education there. In 2008, he passed his higher secondary examination from Govt. Hazi Mohammad Mohsin College, Chittagong. He got his LLB (Hon’s) and LLM degrees from the University of Dhaka.

Then, he joined ACI, one of the largest conglomerates in Bangladesh as a Law Officer. He was entrusted with the responsibilities to manage the tasks of trademark, designs and copyright, drafting and vetting, and litigation, along with other functions at ACI. He worked there from December 2016 to October 2018. He started working under the Supervision of Mr. Mohammad Shishir Manir at Law Counsel in October 2018. He enrolled as an Advocate of the Bangladesh Bar Council on 23 December 2018. He attained membership in Dhaka Bar Association on 31 January 2019. He joined Law Lab in November 2019. He was enrolled as an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh on 13 August 2022.

Mr. Saddam was associated with the research and drafting in many cases, i.e., Ataur Mridha vs. State, 73 DLR (AD) 298 (famously known as Life Imprisonment case); The State vs. Professor Morshed Hasan Khan and Ors, 71 DLR (AD) 364 (Latest case providing guidelines on anticipatory bail); Moti Matbor vs. State, 73 DLR 89; Md. Asad Uddin vs. State, Criminal Revision No. 1146 of 2020 (In this case, 10 Lawyers of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh challenged the disputed confessional statement of the accused who had implicated themselves in rape and killing a girl who subsequently appeared before the Court in Narayanganj.); Tushar Das @ Raj vs. State & another, Criminal Appeal No. 8554 of 2019 (This is a case relating to inter-caste marriage between Susmita Devnath Aditi, a Brahmin girl, and Tushar Das, a Harijan.); Md. Zahir Uddin vs. Bangladesh, Writ Petition No. 3278 of 2020 (A case of mistaken identity); Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas vs. Bangladesh, 25 BLC 272 (issue relating to the issuance of passport); Siddiq Farazi vs. State, 73 DLR 79 (Wife killing case-the Appellant killed her wife on sudden provocation-Conviction converted to 302 to 304 of the Penal Code); Sajjadul Islam vs. Jahangir Nagar University, 24 BLC 706 (The petitioner challenged a discriminatory decision against Madrasa students.); Mohammad Shishir Manir & others vs. Bangladesh, Writ Petition No. of 2019 (In this case, Petitioners challenged the several provisions of Nari-OShishu Nirjatan Ain, 2000 providing mandatory death penalty.); Md. Asad Uddin and others, Writ Petition No. 1585 of 2020 (More than 100 lawyers of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh filed this writ petition seeking direction for establishing Independent Police Complaint Investigation Commission); State vs. Abdul Gafur, 73 DLR 198, Mohammad Shishir Manir vs. Bar Council (The Petitioner challenged the arbitrary decision of Bar Council excluding some aspiring candidates in this writ petition.); Mohammad Shishir Manir and others, VC Writ Petition No. 04 of 2020 (The Petitioner sought direction for Covid 19 management in jail.), etc.

Mr. Saddam contributed to Law Lab’s current Legal Discussions on Passport and Travel Ban, Aini Saltamami 2020 (Summary of landmark judgments and important legislation of 2020), Secret Documents and Investigative Journalism, Conviction, Disqualification to participate in election & Stay of Conviction, and Legal Research, i.e., writ against private bodies, guidelines cases, legitimate expectation & absorption into revenue budget, the appointment of the person accused in a criminal case, the Nature of Chief Justice Opinion, Doctrine of Per Incuriam Nature of Criminal Revision, Ability of the Accused to file Naraji Petition, Examination of the Complainant, Substance and Purity Test of Narcotic Drugs, etc. He co-authored two articles on Cheque Dishonor and E-Judiciary published in the national Daily. He participated in the different training programs on Land Verification and Purchase, Labor Law Remedies, Time Management, etc. He visited Chennai, Kolkata, and New Delhi several times and visited the High Court of Madras and the Supreme Court of India.
